Dear blog friends,
From the end of November 2020 to February 2021, we have just spent three months reflecting on the relationship between the outside world and the inside world. For you, on this subject, I have collected and translated 6 fascinating articles, 6 articles that Christiane, over the course of time, has put on her blog with love. Dreams teach us so many surprising facts!
Today we are going to move on to another study theme and you will go from one surprise to another.
Yes, you will! Could you imagine it? The new topic is:
Of the Happiness of Anger
Anger!
Anger is getting a lot of bad press today. That's the negative emotion to run away from.
One exclaims:
- But stay zen, my dear!
And the other says:
- If you're angry, my poor thing, it's because you're far from having reached Enlightenment!
An Enlightened One is detached from these inner storms, he controls himself and remains calm, above the disturbances of this lower earth.
Softness, serenity are the proof of a certain spiritual elevation.
One can read for example on the Internet:
"Anger or Zen?
Angry attitude or Zen meditation? Their consequences are deeper than you think. Anger creates disorders of the organism. The stress it causes diminishes the quality of our immune system and makes us susceptible to infections: herpes pimples, liver disease, and, for some, a list of even worse ravages. On the contrary, the result of a session of relaxation, letting go, or sharing increases the immune defences, balances the heartbeat, lowers blood pressure. Choose your side!"
Thus, one restrains oneself from any vigorous movement, one refrains from saying directly what one thinks, one shows oneself smooth, one does not contradict, one is kind! Oh yes... a love...
A certain form of "Christianity" - is it that of Christ? I don't think so -, and a certain form of "Buddhism" - is it Buddha's? I don't know -, agree on this point, recommending to avoid any movement that could hurt, hurt the other or do harm.
But this is not always the opinion of dreams. We have already studied the dream of Tania, which showed her that being mean like her sister-in-law by getting angry with her colleagues was beneficial to her.
Dreams are the expression of nature, of life, of the instinctive force that defends its territory. And dreams don't necessarily find that anger is always that bad. You will be able to judge for yourself with this dream.
Many women have a charming temperament, they are gentle, patient, tolerant. Their greatest desire is to maintain peace in the home. Loren is one of them.
Never raising her voice. If she has a reproach to make, she says it nicely, with very measured words.
She has received a very "Christian" education and she keeps in mind the words of Saint Paul:
"Love has long patience, love is kind [...]
it is not quickly provoked, does not impute evil, [...]
it bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." (1)
The famous apostle understood very well the necessity of love, he who, filled with hatred a few years earlier, helped the murderous Jews to stone the first Christians (The Bible, Acts of the Apostles, ch.7, v.58; Acts, ch.8, v.1-3; Acts, ch.26, v.9-10).
But Loren doesn't know hate.
Life is easy with the young woman. Yet she doesn't have an easy life. Her husband has a drinking problem, which makes him irascible, aggressive, bad. And Loren puts up with it, without saying anything.
But dreams are watching over her, and she received this dream that she confided to me:
Dream
I'm sitting at a table in a bar. I see a man coming towards me. He hands me a package, it's a gift. I take it and look at it: it's a chocolate bar, the one I used to eat when I was little. It's Kohler chocolate.
She woke up amazed.
Let's conduct the interpretation methodically.
The bar
The first picture shows a place in everyday life, where one can stop and sit down for a moment of relaxation, regain strength, have something to eat.
The dreamer explains to me that she rarely goes to a bar, she doesn't have the time and finds it useless to spend money in this way.
So this dream is about relaxing and regaining strength.
Loren in everyday life is tired, tense, dissatisfied, without realising it. And she doesn't allow herself to take time for herself, to regain energy.
A man brings her a chocolate bar.
A man
As I have often explained before, the only thing that distinguishes a man from a woman is his sex, which manifests itself in the outside world, whereas the sex of a woman is inside her body.
So what does the penis symbolically mean? It designates what is called the phallic force, that is to say the capacity to assert oneself in the world of matter, thanks to the creative power of the idea, of thought, and thanks to the strength to fight to give form to an idea.
This man, whom the dreamer doesn't know, shows her that she has within her the power to assert herself in the outside world and to fight for a result as well. But Loren doesn't know this.
The chocolate bar
Who doesn't like chocolate? But Loren doesn't eat it. It's not in her habits.
It's a dark brown substance, she tells me, that you bite into and it melts in your mouth, it's very good, it's very pleasurable and it's tonic.
Let's recapitulate the meaning of the previous images:
When it comes to regaining strength (the bar), the dream presents our friend with a man: her capacity for affirmation, of which she has no idea. This stranger offers her something to help her assert herself, something good, that pleases, that gives her strength.
What is it?
Could it be the sexual relationship with her husband? It is true that chocolate often represents the voluptuous pleasures of love.
I'll check it out. Everything Loren said about chocolate must then also be able to be said about her love relationship with her husband.
The young woman explained that she is not used to eating chocolate. Does this mean that she rarely makes love? No. This is not the case at all. Sexual intimacy is frequent in her couple.
What is it then?
It's Kohler chocolate, the chocolate Loren ate when she was little.
The dreamer learned German in school, and still remembers it well enough to know that "die Kohle" means coal and "der Kohler" means coalman.
Ah, Coalman chocolate, like Suchard or Nestlé chocolate.
So why does the dream choose this brand rather than another?
Kohler
Isn't there a play on words? Of course there is! If you happen to speak French, you will know that "Kohler" sounds like "colère", which means anger! This chocolate is anger!
Let's do the checks:
- Loren ate chocolate when she was little. Did she get angry as a child? "Yes," she says, she used to fight with her brothers and sisters and she was no pushover.
- "Chocolate is good, it makes you happy and gives you strength," said Loren. What about anger?
- "Yes," exclaimed the young woman, "when you've said what's on your heart, it's a relief, it feels good, it makes you feel better".
So, check it out, Kohler chocolate is anger. Loren needs to taste her anger.
The dreamer looks at me dubious, dubious. What!? She should let her anger build up and express it?
She tells me that she often feels a shock in her stomach, every time something doesn't seem right and hurts her, but she pushes this signal away, she prevents herself from reacting to avoid conflict, she handles her emotions, she always remains calm and likeable. She shuts up.
Well, no, no, and no! The dream offers her something else. It advises her from now on to assert herself and, in order to do so, to decide to say what is in her heart, to get angry. But then, it's not peace, no, there is going to be war in the marriage!
Loren went home very puzzled. And it wasn't long before she had the opportunity to feel the strength that she had been pushing back inside her, and courageously, expecting a terrible scene, for once she threw a tantrum, said her disagreement, said her anger.
And then, ... surprise... she felt relieved, liberated, at ease and full of energy.
In front of her, her husband, dumbfounded, listened to her indignation, looked at her without saying a word. And when she fell silent, he said to her:
- I didn't know you were so beautiful when you're angry.
It was without irony, it was sincere, to make up for it.
He approached her, he took her in his arms and held her close to him.
Loren hid her face on that solid chest and in her head she heard herself say:
- My God! If I had known! How inhibited I have been, and how stupid!
Does this mean that Loren will always have to get systematically angry? Certainly not. Dreams have come to compensate for an imbalance of which she was unaware. They advised her to follow her instinctive reaction. The external principles are valid, of course, but the internal reaction is more accurate and always better suited to the circumstances of the moment. Respecting her emotion, being faithful to her feelings, that is what the young woman must learn. And anger is one of them. It's coal from the coalman, and it gives energy, the energy of the earth.
Christiane
